We provide professional support in Emergency Medicine.
It is the branch of medicine involving immediate
recognition of and response to life-threatening cases. Emergency Medicine
particularly aims to increase the quality of services provided before the
hospital and at emergency medicine departments affiliated with hospitals for
the solution of urgent health problems and to prevent death and disabilities.
Emergency medicine doctors serve to regulate and evaluate vital signs of the
patient and carry out the treatment in diseases and injuries.
At the Emergency Department of Anadolu Medical Center; we
provide services with 6 examination rooms, 2 trauma rooms, 2 pediatric rooms, 1
gynecologic room, and 2 triage room, 5 observation rooms and 1 plaster room. In
addition to the ambulance area for our patients, we also have a heliport
available in our campus.
While we have a triage classification for our adult and
pediatric patients who admit to our Emergency Service, we render all
examination, consultation, intervention and treatment services to our patients
who need such services. We use a code blue system for patients who need CPR. We
have a trauma protocol in place for trauma patients.
We particularly place great importance to practices
focused on staff and patient safety at our department. In addition to 24-hour
availability of security guards, there is a panic button for emergencies. We
use gloves and personal protective equipment’s to avoid contagious diseases and
carry out practices in accordance with the instructions of our hospital in this
area.
We give great importance to patient safety. For instance,
we verify the patient’s identity with at least two criteria and use ID
wristbands. When using high-risk medications, medications are prepared and
administered with written order and in the presence of a witness. We use the
SBAR technique for effective communication among the medical staff. We take all
necessary measures to prevent patients from falling. To prevent medication
errors, we prefer Pyxis, single-dose medication dispensing system. Our doctors
obtain informed consents from patients before surgical procedures and
anesthesia.
