We provide professional support in Dry Needle Therapy.
Dry Needle Therapy, or IMS (intramusculer stimulation),
is a Canadian Dr. It is a pain treatment method developed by Gunn and is
used for the treatment of painful muscle spasms. The most common area of use is myofascial pain
syndrome, fibromyalgia or the painful table called muscle rheumatism
colloquially.
The reason for many painful events in the musculoskeletal
system is the contracted and shortened muscles due to painful diseases such as
stress, strain, hernia, etc. Muscles that harden with spasm become
painful. The pain produces a spasm again. Untreated, the increased
‘vicious cycle of spasm and pain’ locks the patient, loses movement flexibility
and causes painful stiffness. Painful stiffness, known as trigger point
and colloquially known as knuckle, develops inside the shortened and tense
muscles.
Dry needle therapy is a safe, non-side effect,
therapeutic and harmless method. The needle gets this name, as it does not
contain any medication. For this reason, allergic reactions, drug
interactions and side effects are not observed.
Dry Needle Treatment is planned by the physician after
the patient is examined and diagnosed, in certain sessions alone or in
combination with other treatments. The duration of the treatment, ie how
many sessions will be, varies according to the width of the body area where the
problem is located, how old the disease is, the age of the patient, and whether
other diseases accompany it. Sometimes a single session may be
sufficient. However, it is planned as a total of 3-5 sessions, most often
1-2 sessions per week. In rare cases, it can take 8-10
sessions. Success in treatment is very high (92-95%) and the results are
satisfactory.

Generally, patients and even physicians interpret this
trend as a simple muscle pain and try to avoid it for a long time or seek a
solution with muscle relaxant drugs. If the problem is not resolved, the
quality of life decreases significantly. Typically, we hear the complaint
of “I have not visited hospitals, departments, doctors, I could not
recover” from patients who come to this situation.
Dry needle therapy is a method of resolving the spasm by
dipping very thin needles of different lengths into the painful trigger points
in the spasm muscles. The patient usually does not feel the
needle. For this reason, it can be applied to patients with needle
phobia. In acupuncture, such needles remain in the area for about 20
minutes, while in dry needle application this time is limited to a few seconds,
sometimes a few minutes. Generally, there is no bleeding and frightened
patients do not see blood for this reason. It can be applied under certain
conditions in pregnant women. The lower age limit for the application is
12-15.
