adapt. The drops used cause temporary blurring of vision.
The condition of the eyelids, lacrimal glands, tear
drainage system and areas around the eyes are examined in detail by the physician. In
addition, the shape, movement, color of the eyelids, the differences between
the eyelids, the healthy functioning of the closing and opening functions and
whether there is any mass are also checked.
It controls the inner muscles of the eye and the movement
of the pupil. Especially the inward movement of the eye “rectus internus”; outward
movements are controlled by the muscles called “rectus externus”. Eye
muscles are examined in order to understand whether these muscles are working
properly. The external muscles of the eye also keep the eyes parallel. In
strabismus and double vision examinations, the condition of the eye muscles is
determined.
The details of the cornea, iris, lens and retina layer
are examined with the help of a device called slit lamb, which is formed by the
combination of multiple devices. If a problem is found, the findings about
this problem are investigated. It is not possible to perform an eye
examination without a slit lamp. Because, thanks to the bio microscope,
eye tissues that cannot be examined with the naked eye can be examined by
enlarging.
Fundus examination is performed by dripping amla and
enlarging the pupil. With this examination, the retina and the intraocular
lens are examined in detail. The inner structure of the eye is examined in
the fundus examination. Retinal detachment, glaucoma, hypertension, brain
tumor and symptoms of various diseases in the body can be detected. In
children, hidden visual defects can be detected by dilating the pupil.
