We provide professional support in Neurosurgery.
Neurosurgery is a sophisticated branch primarily focused
on surgical treatment of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system.
At the Neurosurgery Department of Anadolu Medical Center,
we diagnose and treat all types of diseases addressed in this field.
This specialty particularly involves diagnosis and
treatment of malignant and benign brain tumors, spinal cord tumors and
peripheral nerve tumors. It is responsible for surgical treatment of disorders
like hernias of the lower back and the neck which are the most prevalent types
of spinal and spinal cord diseases, narrowing of the spinal canal (spinal
stenosis) and displacement of vertebra (spondylolisthesis). Particularly
traumas of the nervous system (head traumas – traumatic brain hemorrhages,
spinal cord injuries) and conditions that call for immediate surgical
interventions are covered by the field of knowledge and responsibility of
neurosurgeons.
Surgical treatment of congenital nervous system anomalies
(congenital scoliosis, craniosynostosis, hydrocephalus, swelling in the lower
back or neck due to spinal dysraphism) are covered by the field of interest of
neurosurgery. Neurosurgery also deals with the surgical treatment of brain
hemorrhages due to aneurism and vascular malformation and other types of brain
hemorrhages that call for surgery. Functional neurosurgery also includes
placement of neurostimulators which may be necessary in Parkinson’s disease or
other movement disorders, surgical treatment of patients with epilepsy which
cannot be controlled with medications, placement of pumps and nerve stimulators
for excessive muscle spasms due to paralysis, and surgical intervention for
pain (cordotomy, RF, rhizotomy, etc.) Narrowing or constriction of the arteries
of the neck (carotid stenosis) and hydrocephalus (buildup of cerebrospinal
fluid in the brain) are again covered by the area of service of neurosurgeons.
If some of the diseases mentioned above are not
life-threatening, treatment or surgery may be proceeded with after a joint
evaluation of the patient by the neurooncologist, radiation oncologist,
neurologist, physical therapist, algologist, orthopedist and psychiatrist.
At the Neurosurgery Department of Anadolu Medical Center,
we diagnose and treat diseases related to the brain, spine and spinal cord

An institution that fueled dozens of worthwhile projects in Turkey, Anadolu Foundation made another dream real by founding Anadolu Medical Center.
Relying on the valuable heritage of Anatolia that boasts of thousands of years of medical knowledge and was home to many valuable people of medicine, our hospital uses this knowledge to contribute to human health.
Working in strategic cooperation with Johns Hopkins Medicine for the improvement of education and quality, our hospital provides services in all branches including in particular, oncologic sciences, cardiovascular health, gynecology and IVF, neurological sciences, surgical sciences, internal medicine, diagnosis and imaging.
Established on an area of 188.000 square meters and an indoor area of 50 thousand square meters with a capacity of 201 beds, our hospital provides services with JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation, ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology), ISO (18001, 14001 and 9001) certifications.
Anadolu Medical Center continues to provide healthcare services also at Ataşehir with its Outpatient Clinic. Procedural archives of patients who receive services at the Outpatient Clinic are kept in the virtual environment.
Having started to render service in June 2010 within the structure of the hospital, the Bone Marrow Transplantation Center performs bone marrow transplants for 22 patients at the same time. Our patients are always the number one priority at our hospital. For this reason, we give value to the needs and expectations of our patients, and make every effort to ensure that they have a peaceful treatment process and feel at home.
