Pediatric Urology

Pediatric Urology is a science that deals with the
diagnosis and treatment of all kinds of urolgic problems in children up to the
age of 18, including urological problems detected in the womb.
Some diseases seen in children are not seen in adults at
all, or the diagnosis and treatment approaches of similar diseases in adults
are different. Since the anatomy, physiology and metabolism of the child
is completely different from that of the adult, the child to be operated on should
be evaluated by physicians who are fully trained in pediatric
urology. Most of the time, children cannot fully express their troubles,
cannot adequately answer the doctor’s questions, and cannot be patient and
compliant during the examination. For this reason, Pediatric Urologists
are accustomed to understanding children, patiently listening to the medical
problem they cannot express, as they only deal with children.

Some of the diseases that Pediatric Urology is interested
in are diseases that start in the womb and continue after birth.With
ultrasonography performed to pregnant mothers in the prenatal period,
abnormalities of the baby can be detected and prenatal follow-up and treatment
practices begin. These babies are followed up and treated by pediatric
urologists after birth. Some diseases show symptoms at birth and are
treated immediately. Some diseases can be seen at any age throughout the
entire childhood. Pediatric Urologists, Gynecologists and Obstetricians and
Pediatricians cooperate with the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases in a
cohonded manner.

Below, we can briefly state the situations in which the Pediatric Urologist
should be consulted:

Detection of kidney, bladder, urinary tract and sexual
organ disorders in the baby in the ultrasonographic examination performed to
the mother before birth

Urination difficulty in the newborn baby or at later
ages, abnormal appearance in the pipid, bags, swelling

The gender of the baby is uncertain,

Deformities in the penis (pissing from below, curved
urination, curvature of the penis, turning, buried)

The urination hole is in the lower part of the penis, 

Inguinal swelling, mass observation, inguinal hernia

The testicles are not in the bags, the testicles are
abnormally large, the testicles are pain and discoloration.

Genital abnormalities in girls

Urination disorders (fine voiding, burning, bloody
