We provide professional support in Microinjection – ICSI.
In microinjection, a single sperm is injected into the
egg with the help of a special tool called micromanipulator. The
fertilization process takes place approximately 2-4 hours after the eggs are
collected. In fertilization by microinjection, the cells around the eggs
(cumulus cells) are first cleaned. Then the egg is held with a fixing
pipette and the sperm is injected into the egg with a very fine
needle. Fertilization control is done under the microscope after 16-18
hours. Before fertilization, embryos are stored in devices resembling body
environment called incubators in the laboratory for 2 to 5 days until they are
transferred to the womb of the expectant mother. Later, 1-2 embryos with
the best development are transferred to the expectant mother’s uterus with the
help of a catheter. A pregnancy test is done 10-12 days after the
transfer.
