We provide professional support in Orthopedics and traumatology.
In Kolan Hospital Group Orthopedics and Traumatology Department, operations are
performed against bone, joint injuries, fractures and dislocations, congenital
(clubfoot, hip dislocation) or subsequent deformities.
Arthroscopy (closed method) surgeries are performed in the treatment of joint diseases such
as knee and ankle. All kinds of prosthetic surgery (arthroplasty) are
successfully applied by doctors and nurses who are specialized in prosthetic
surgery (arthroplasty) in the disorders that develop in the hip, knee, shoulder
and elbow joints as a result of calcification.
Diseases and treatments served in the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department;

Treatment of Childhood Orthopedic Diseases
Developmental Hip Dislocation
Hip dislocation and insufficiency is a problem seen in newborns and
childhood. Hip dislocation in children; It can be corrected with
early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Developmental Hip Dysplasia (Nest failure)
It may not be noticed for a long time since it does not cause an obvious
complaint. Sometimes there may be pain that radiates to the
knee. Therefore, it can be confused with a herniated disc.
Perthes Disease
It is a disease that occurs with limping between the ages of 2-12 after the
malnutrition of the hip joint. In children, limping without pain and fever
for more than 7 days should suggest Perthes disease. These patients need
regular follow-up during the recovery period of at least 2 years.
Pes Ekino Varus (Clubfoot)
Congenital clubfoot can be unilateral or bilateral. Some of these feet are not
genuine clubfoot and can be corrected with simple massages. Immediately
after birth, the primary health problems of the mother and baby are resolved in
genuine clubfoot with 6-7 weekly plaster casts. In 90% of patients, a
small intervention called tenotomy is required. (Ponseti Method) The
success of the treatment depends on the harmony of family, child and physician.
Cerebral palsy
It is a disease that develops as a result of the brain being deprived of
oxygen. This event can happen while the mother is pregnant; It can
also occur for various reasons during and after birth. Involuntary
contractions in the muscles cause deformities in the bones and joints over time. This
can lead to difficulties in meeting the child’s basic needs. The disease
is treated jointly by the Physical Therapy and Orthopedics departments.
Spina Bifida (Myelomeningocele)
Spina bifida means open spine. It can be diagnosed during pregnancy. Depending
on the level of spinal cord involvement, varying degrees of weakness, urinary
and defecation problems are encountered in the lower legs.
Pes Planus (Flat Insoles)
Inward and Outward Pressing in Children
Sports Medicine and Sports Medicine
If sports injuries are mild, they can be treated with rest, bandage and splint
applications, non-steroidal pain relievers and edema-solving drugs (NSAIDs),
regional cortisone injections and physical therapy applications.
If the injury is severe, the damage is more; surgical approach is required.
Surgical applications;
Open and closed (arthroscopic) procedures
Platelet-rich plasma injections
After arthroscopic surgery, physical therapy and rehabilitation applications are also
performed, allowing sports injuries to be healed in a shorter time.
Knee and Hip Replacement Applications
The most common problem is our knees, because the two longest bones of our body are
joints, the range of motion is too much, joint strength is only provided by
soft tissues, and our knees are exposed to more load than other joints.
In sports activities, this burden becomes much more. Damage to the cartilage
tissue, a tear in the meniscus, a rupture in the ligaments impair the health of
the knee, and pain, swelling, snagging and locking occur in the knee. A
healthy knee will not ache, lock or swell.
Prosthesis;
It is a good option for calcifications that do not respond to medication,
intra-knee injections and physical therapy, patients who are thought not to
benefit from knee arthroscopy, or who have recurrent complaints after previous
surgery.
Hip joint and pelvis in which this joint is located; It plays an effective
role in healthy standing, walking and running actions. Posture disorder,
limping, leg length inequality, limitation of joint movement, pain, tenderness
and swelling around the thigh are the conditions that need to be
examined. In patients with such complaints, it is possible to improve the
patient with early diagnosis and treatment.
