Description

Prolotherapy

It is based on injecting proliferative and irritant solutions into the
body. Injections are usually given to damaged, worn, weakened tendons and
ligaments and joints.

Thus, joint, tendon and muscle pains are
treated. Injected proliferative substances initiate an inflammatory
process in the joint, at the junction of tendons with muscles, and where the
muscles attach to the bone, the fibro-osseous junction (enthesis).

This inflammation triggers the repair mechanism, and a
new process begins in the formation and repair of both cartilage tissue and
collagen fibrils. This re-repair process has been demonstrated
microscopically and macroscopically. As a result of inflammation lasting
for an average of three weeks, clinical improvement begins in the patient.

In cartilage, tendon, joint and muscle problems, not only
the pain is relieved, but also the clinical picture is improved.

It is an application paid by SUT in our country. It
is an application that must be examined in arthrosis, joint stabile problems,
lumbar hernia, avascular necrosis, epicondylitis, (such as tens, golfer’s
elbow), heel spurs, joint calcification, persistent neck, back, lower back pain,
postoperative pain before deciding on surgery.

Prolotherapy: It is based on injecting irritant and
proliferative substances such as hypertonic dextrosis, phenol, glycerin, low
concentrations of lidocaine, cod liver oil into the joints, tendons and
ligaments.

After a long history and examination process, the patient
is diagnosed and proliferative substance injections are made to the problem
area.

Although it depends on the severity of the disease, its
chronicity, and the adequacy of the patient’s repair mechanism, it is generally
observed that clinical improvement and symptoms disappear after the third week
of the application.

In the radiological follow-up of cases with narrowing of
the joint space, knee prosthesis, it is reported that the cartilage tissue is repaired
again, the range of motion increases and radiological improvement is detected.

As it is known, every physician frequently encounters
situations and clinical pictures in which no method alone is sufficient.

While reflex treatments can generally be successful in
the information and dysfunction phase in the tissue, they are not successful in
degenerative changes that start in the joint and organ, or success takes a long
time.

However, Prolotherapy is successful in chronic and severe
conditions such as arthrosis, epicondylitis, avascular necrosis, where there
are morphological changes.

Prolotherapy Indications

lubrication of joints and tendons)

5-Avascular necroses (necrosis of the bone tissue due to insufficient blood flow)
6-Discomfort in which muscles and tendons cannot function as a result of
recurrent swelling and pain
7-Recurrent headaches
8-Recurrent neck pain
9-Recurrent back pain
10-Recurrent back pain

away in the ribs
12-Migraine
13-Heel spurs
14-Pain that does not go away after ankle and wrist sprains

very important cause)

Mechanism of Action

Proliferative therapy is a treatment method known as
regenerative injection therapy or proliferative injection therapy. It is
based on injecting proliferative and irritant solutions into the body.

This inflammation triggers a repair mechanism together,
and a new process begins in the formation and repair of both cartilage tissue
and collagen fibrils. This re-repair process has been demonstrated
microscopically and macroscopically. As a result of inflammation that lasts
for an average of three weeks, the patient experiences clinical improvement.
