Endoscopy

What is endoscopy?

It is the general name of the processes of imaging the digestive system
(stomach, part of the duodenum and large intestine) by a physician who has been
specially trained in this subject with the help of a special camera located at
the end of this device with a special tube-shaped throat.

The procedure in which the stomach and a part of the
duodenum are evaluated is called Gastroscopy, the procedure in which the large
intestine is evaluated is called Colonoscopy.

During the colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure, the
diagnosis and in some cases the treatment of digestive system diseases can be
performed at the same time. 

When Is Endoscopy Required?

1.Difficulty swallowing, sensation of food stuck in the throat during eating

2. Heartburn and heartburn ongoing for a while

3. Stomach ache, stomach ache hitting the back,
especially some foods triggering stomach ache (acidic foods and drinks, fried
foods, foods made from fatty and yeast-free dough, etc.)

4. Vomiting, bile vomiting especially after food intake, lack of relief after vomiting

5. Abnormal findings after radiological examinations 

7.Short constipation or worsening of existing constipation

8.Prolonged diarrhea

9.Bleeding after defecation in the toilet or stool in the
form of very bad smelling and dark coffee grounds

10.Unexplained abdominal bloating, difficulty in
defecation or lack of comfort despite defecation.

11.) Caused weakness and weakening that lasts over six months

In many European countries and in Japan, where stomach
cancer is common, endoscopic procedures are in routine check-up
screenings. Although awareness on this issue has increased in our country
in recent years, it has not yet descended into routine. Is Endoscopy a
