Face lift surgery is the removal of wrinkles and sagging of the skin in order to make the face look younger. Along with aging, the sun and gravity, which we have been exposed to for years, cause wrinkling of the skin, and sagging of the skin as well as the subcutaneous tissues. Face lift surgery is the operation of removing these sagging and wrinkled tissues and hanging them in appropriate places. Surgical scars start from the temporal region, pass in front of the ear, continue behind the ear and into the scalp. Surgical scars are tried to be hidden inside the natural facial lines. Face lift surgery can be performed alone or can be combined with other operations such as eyelid surgery, neck lifting, eyebrow lifting. Filler or laser treatments can be performed in the same session. The operation is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes 3-5 hours. A drain will be placed on the surgical site and bandage will be applied. There will be some bruising and swelling after the operation. The patient stays in the hospital that night; drains are removed the next day and the dressing is changed. Seams are removed in 5-7 days. The patient should refrain from exercise and heavy lifting for 2 weeks and should be protected from the sun for 6 months. 10 days after the operation, the patient can return to work.
