We provide professional support in Anesthesia and reanimation.
It is the most important part of the operating room
team. It is not possible to start the operation without giving the patient
general or local anesthesia. The drugs used to prevent the patient from
remembering the event and not feeling pain during the surgery are determined
and administered by the anesthesiologist and reanimation physician. It is
also the most important responsibility of the anesthesiologist to minimize some
of the negative effects of anesthesia on the human body and to ensure that the
patient wakes up after the operation without affecting his vital
functions. Thanks to the developing anesthesia techniques and the drugs
used in recent years, it ensures the patient’s satisfaction and the safe work
of the doctor.
Anesthesia can be applied by doctors who have trained in
anesthesia and reanimation on medical education. Anesthesia technicians,
who are trained to assist anesthesiologists throughout the surgery, are also a
very important part of the anesthesia team.
We can divide the applied anesthesia methods into two main groups.
Temporary loss of consciousness and decreased reflex
activity without any change in vital functions is called general anesthesia.
General anesthesia application;It causes loss
of consciousness, prevents the patient’s awareness during surgery, provides
comfort to the patient during surgery by eliminating pain, and facilitates the
surgical intervention by suppressing reflex activity and muscle
relaxation. With these effects, general anesthesia provides suitable
conditions for the surgeon and the patient.
Regional anesthesia, on the other
hand, is the prevention of pain sensation in only one part of the body without
loss of consciousness. It is generally preferred in arm, leg and
under-belly surgeries. ‘Epidural and spinal anesthesia’, which has become
very common recently, falls under this category. It is a method frequently
used in pain control during and after surgery in painless birth, vascular
surgeries, operations that need to be performed down the waist. In
addition, the most appropriate anesthesia method is applied to the patient,
such as combined epidural and spinal anesthesia, local – regional anesthesia
where only the operation area is anesthetized, deep sedation, neuralpt
anesthesia, regional intravenous anesthesia.
