Chest Diseases

There are 3 different units affiliated to the Chest
Diseases department. These units are determined by the Ministry of
Health. These are occupational health and diseases, allergy and intensive
care departments. Ataşehir Avicenna Hospital Chest Diseases Department has
many affiliated units such as inpatient treatment, bronchoscopy unit,
respiratory laboratory and allergy testing, as well as outpatient clinic
services. When our patients come to our department with the complaint of
chest diseases, they are sent to any of these units if the doctor deems
necessary, after the first examination.

Respiratory Function Tests

Pulmonary function tests are needed for
diseases in the lungs that affect breathing. Thanks to the tests applied,
the lung capacity of the patient is learned. The volume of air used during
breathing occurs. If there is, the level of current dysfunction will be
determined. Tests such as diffusion, reversibility, vital capacity can be
given as examples of respiratory function tests. On the other hand,
bronchoscopy, which is a type of endoscopy, can be considered as one of these
tests. Bronchoscopy is the name given to the imaging of the respiratory
tract by endoscopy method. A wide variety of lung diseases, especially
lung cancer, can be brought to light with bronchoscopy method. On the
other hand, during the application of this technique, if necessary, a piece can
be taken from the patient using the biopsy technique and an examination can be
performed.

Chest Disease and Early Diagnosis

Early diagnosis saves live in chest diseases. Even
the best pulmonologist may find it difficult to diagnose in cases where the
appropriate technological infrastructure is not available. A good
pulmonologist knows the importance of early diagnosis and conducts diagnosis,
treatment and observation processes accordingly. Treatment is possible for
almost all lung diseases diagnosed early. Patients can show a hundred
percent improvement. Therefore, if you have one or more of the symptoms of

constantly sensitive. Therefore, asthma patients are very weak and unprotected
against external factors. Smoking and allergic substances are the main
external factors. Asthma is a disease that can be treated
regularly. If a certain treatment regimen is established, patients can

COPD (Chronic Lung Disease)

COPD, which has become popular in recent
years, is generally seen in individuals who smoke a lot. In addition, the
possibility of developing COPD disease increases in people who live or work in
a dusty environment. COPD patients need to get the right treatment. It
should not be forgotten that COPD is a disease that can cause death. COPD
begins with inflammation in the lung area and spreads gradually. Cough is
advanced in COPD disease. Problems such as intense sputum production,
coughing up blood, shortness of breath, choking during activity, wheezing can
be considered as symptoms of COPD. Patients who are faced with these

Lung cancer

Lung cancer is at the top of the list of
cancer-related deaths. Early diagnosis is of vital importance in lung
cancer. Lung cancer begins when normal structural cells in the lungs
multiply more than they should and form a tumor in the area. Symptoms of
