In our country, echocardiography methods, cardiac catheterization, exertional electrocardiography, 24-hour Halter ECG examinations are performed in the “Pediatric Cardiology” unit in the diagnosis of congenital heart diseases seen in approximately 1 in 100 live births. In addition, in cooperation with the Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, services are provided in the follow-up, catheterization and surgical treatment of congenital heart diseases.
The diagnosis and treatment of acquired heart diseases, which can be seen in children with symptoms such as chest pain, effort limitation and rhythm irregularities, are also successfully performed by the unit.
In the Pediatric Cardiology Unit; Diagnostic or therapeutic cardiac catheterization can be performed on all kinds of children, including newborns. Those who were born with a hole in the heart or those with stenosis in their heart valves are successfully treated with angiography. In addition, diagnosis, follow-up and treatment of congenital heart diseases of adult age are carried out by the unit.
Patients are hospitalized 1 day before angiography and discharged within 2 days. Some applications in the unit are as follows;
