We provide professional support in ESWT Therapy.
ESWT (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy)
ESWT, in short, shock wave therapy, is a new non-invasive
treatment method based on focusing the shock (pressure) waves generated outside
the body to the desired area of the
body by means of a steel-headed applicator. Shock waves are high pressure sound waves. This form of treatment,
developed to break kidney stones, is used for musculoskeletal pain such as
heel, elbow and shoulder.
ESWT Treatment (It has 85% success rate from heel spur.)
Epin Calcanei (Heel Spur): Those who stand for a long
time, patients with osteoporosis, some rheumatic diseases, wear high heels and
walk for a long time,
Lateral and Medial Epicondylitis (Tennis and Golfer’s
Elbow): Pain in the inner and outer sides of the elbow due to excessive use of
the wrist,
Calcific Shoulder Tendinitis (Shoulder Pain): Shoulder
pain and limitation of movement that develops due to inflammation caused by the
accumulation of calcium deposits in any of the tendons around the shoulder, the
cause of which is not known exactly, which is common in middle ages.
Other Application Areas: It is applied in shoulder
compression syndrome, painful trigger points in the muscles (fibromyalgia),
chronic tendon strains and fractures with delayed union.
Especially in sports health centers, it has found its
application area as an effective and quick treatment method for acute pain and
blunt injuries.
The application time of ESWT treatment in soft tissue
sessions is approximately 5-20 minutes. 3-5 sessions are
performed. After 3-5 sessions with an interval of 3-7 days, there is a
high rate of well-being, and the pain and complaints are largely eliminated
within 4-6 weeks and the patient’s quality of life increases.
FDA approval has been obtained for the heel spur in the
USA since 1997 and for the tennis elbow since 2000. After that, ESWT
Treatment has now been approved as a worldwide accepted treatment and has taken
its place in clinics. We think that this treatment, which is applied in
many clinics in our country, will become more widespread due to the reasons
that it has no side effects for the patient, its cost is low, it accelerates the
recovery of the patient, and provides recovery without the need for long-term
medication or surgical treatment.
Treatment takes 3 sessions. In some cases, the
number of sessions may be 5
A transitional pain may occur in the first days following
the treatment. Please do not forget to take pain-remover and loss remover
medicines from your doctor in that cases.
Stay away from activities that trigger and detect the
heel pain. (like long walks, some sportive activities, dance etc)
Over weight is a main factor in the formation of the heel
spin and causes your pain to remove for a time. For this reason, you
absolutely give excess weight. If you need to get professional help for
this purpose.
You should apply cold your heels 2-4 times a day for
10-15 minutes after eswt. (with ice bags or gel packages)
Do not walk bare foot at home. In the home, you can
prefer to use tail bath slippers or soft interior slippers. (not orthopedic)
You should use long-term silicone heel pads in your shoes
outside the home.
If a full response to eswt cannot be given, additional
treatment methods may be required in resistant cases. These; steroid
injection (needle therapy), prp treatment and surgical treatment (surgery).
