Introduction

The only treatment option is liver transplant for patients with liver failure who
do not respond to medication treatment and where alternative surgical
interventions do not yield positive results. Transplant organs are supplied
from a living donor or persons with confirmed brain death (deceased donor).

Orthotopic method is utilized at the centers for deceased donor liver transplants. Orthotopic
liver transplant is a surgical technique, in which a diseased liver is replaced
with a healthy liver in the same body part.

expected size in both recipient and donor and starts meeting the needs after a
