We provide professional support in Low Back Pain Treatment.
Scientific studies; It shows that 4 out of 5 people
complain of acute low back pain at least once, and 2/5 of these people with acute
pain become permanent. Contrary to popular belief, most of the lumbar
traumas and heavy lifting do not lead to a herniated disc, but to functional
losses in the intervertebral segments and facet joint problems. Many
reasons that do not originate from the spine cause low back pain. Because
many anatomical structures take their source from the lumbar vertebrae or
extend to neighboring structures.
A very important part of low back pain is treated with
non-surgical methods. In the clinical condition called cauda equina,
severe loss of strength and incontinence develops and emergency operation is
required. Physical therapy and rehabilitation methods reduce pain,
eliminate problems such as muscle tension and correct loss of
function. Generally, bed rest for more than 2 days is not appropriate for
low back pain. Manual therapy applications and injection treatments are
satisfactory when the correct diagnosis is made. Standard methods may not
give the same results in every patient. The rehabilitation program of each
patient should be tailored individually.
The aim of the patient with low back pain is to prevent
chronicity and return the patient to his daily life as soon as
possible. These goals provide a physical therapy and rehabilitation clinic
to the patient. What problems can cause back pain? In order to
prevent the progress of the problem, the diagnosis of low back pain should be
made as soon as possible and treatment should be started immediately.
Low Back Pain Caused by Spine and Related Structures
It is a condition in which a pinched nerve causes leg
pain, usually caused by a herniated disc. Sciatica is another name for
pain. In addition, numbness and movement disorder can be seen in the leg.
It is usually muscle pain caused by improper posture,
sitting and working styles. Pain may be felt in different parts of the
waist and legs. Patients sometimes complain of insomnia and waking up in
the morning without rest.
It is a situation where the nerve roots leading to the
leg or the spinal cord become stuck in the bony spaces where they are located
and usually cause complaints similar to root compression. It is more
common in patients above middle age and the limitation of walking distance is a
condition that bothers the patient in addition to pain. It may cause pain,
numbness, and a feeling of weight in the waist and legs.
Tendon, Ligament (Bag) and Soft Tissue Pain: The pain is
limited to the damaged tissue and does not spread. Pain is caused by
overstretching or overuse of tissues.
Low Back Pain Arising Out of the Spine Appendicitis, kidney disease,
uterine problems, and urinary tract infection are some examples of pain
affecting the lower back.
Treatment and rehabilitation of back problems takes place in three grapevines.
In the first phase, namely the acute phase, FTR specialists
treat pain and edema caused by inflammation. After determining the origin
of the pain, that is, after making a specific diagnosis, rest, medicines, ice,
special injections, mobilization and physical therapy applications may be
included in the treatment plan. Particularly in lumbar hernia, but
generally in all acute pain, most of the pain is caused by edema and
inflammation in the injured area. The purpose of the treatments to be
applied in the first stage is to end this process as soon as possible.
In the second phase, or the recovery phase, flexibility and
strengthening programs and applications are started to return the body parts to
their proper positions. The purpose of this is to bring the patient back
to their work, hobbies and sports life.
The aim of the third stage is to maintain well-being and
prevent repetitions. By using a whole body fitness program in addition to
the previous exercises, the overall body biomechanics and the slightly reduced
endurance in the first phase are tried to be restored to the best level.
