We provide professional support in Perinatology (Examination of High Risk Pregnancies).
Perinatology literally means birth and the surrounding
period. Every problem in this process is within the scope of
perinatology. It is also called Perinatology, High Risk Pregnancies and Maternal
Fetal Medicine. Health status of mother and fetus during pregnancy is the
main subject of perinatology. The purpose of perinatology is to determine
risky situations during pregnancy and to plan pregnancy follow-up and treatment
accordingly. Primatologists evaluate and follow up women who are exposed
to risks that may adversely affect pregnancy, whether pre-pregnancy or during
pregnancy. Pre-pregnancy diseases of the expectant mother; Heart
disease, high blood pressure, diabetes (Diabetes), Hypothyroidism – Endocrine
diseases such as hyperthyroidism, kidney diseases etc., Problems
encountered during pregnancy; Preeclampsia, Gestational Diabetes
(gestational diabetes), Abnormal screening test (double test, triple test, quad
test) result, multiple pregnancies, premature birth history, recurrent
pregnancy loss, baby growth retardation, Placenta (baby’s wife) problems.
Detailed Ultrasonography, in other words Anomaly
Scanning, 18–23. It is an ultrasound examination performed between weeks
and weeks, in which the organs of the unborn baby are viewed in
detail. The systems and organs that are aimed to be seen in this
examination are; The brain tissue, spine, limbs (arm, leg, hand, foot) and
skeletal system of the fetus, face, lips, eyes, kidneys and bladder,
gastrointestinal system, placenta and umbilical cord, and heart and vascular
system can be listed as follows. With detailed ultrasonography or anomaly
scanning, it is examined whether the organ systems listed above are
anatomically normal or not. Findings called markers of the disease can be
detected in approximately 70-75% of fetuses with chromosomal diseases such as
Down Syndrome, and it is possible to make a preliminary diagnosis of these
diseases at the same time with detailed ultrasonography. It is a fact to
be known that the definitive diagnosis of these diseases can only be made by
taking cells belonging to the fetus and performing chromosome
analysis. Cells belonging to the fetus are possible with invasive
(interventional) procedures called CVS (Chorionic Villus Biopsy) (Taking a
piece from the placenta), Amniocentesis (Amnion fluid removal) and
Cordocentesis (taking blood from the fetus cord). In addition, it is possible
for expectant mothers and fathers to get an idea about the external appearance
of the baby with our high quality Ultrasonography devices that enable
four-dimensional imaging of the fetus. In our hospital, the
