We provide professional support in Psycho – Oncology Department.
Cancer patients may exhibit various spiritual and
behavioral reactions in the diagnosis, treatment and further stages of the
disease. Part of these reactions is normal, and even adaptive. Such reactions
are “normal” responses that we expect in the disease process. However, when

Empathy and information are essential in
patient-psychologist relationship.
The principle of privacy and confidentiality is
respected.
No information is shared with others without the
permission and knowledge of the patient.
Another principle of the relationship with the patient is
to let the patient express his/her feelings freely.
The psychologist who is sincere, respectful and
empathetic permits the patient to state these feelings and thoughts.
The psychologist informs the patient about psychological
situations which he/she experiences – may experience.
In this connection, the psychologist has at the same time
an instructive and educative role.
