time. New generation smart lenses, on the other hand, offer the

Every person has a natural lens inside the eye, and this
lens is both transparent and elastic. Thanks to its flexibility, this lens
can focus on the distance viewed by changing its shape at every near and far
view. In this way, we can see both far and near.
With advancing age, the natural lens in the eye first
loses its flexibility. After a while, he can’t change shape when looking
up close and can’t focus on the close. As time passes, it also loses its
transparency in older ages and cataracts form.
Our own natural intraocular lens, which loses its
flexibility around the age of 40, is an interchangeable lens. An
artificial lens called Smart Lens is placed in place of
our deformed natural lens. This new lens can now focus both far,
intermediate and near. Cataract does not occur in the future in the

Light entering the eye from different distances is
refracted from the natural lens of our eye and merges into a single focal point
on the retina. Thus, we perceive the image. Our natural lens in our
eyes does this by flexing itself according to different focal points. The
same principles apply to the smart lens. It makes it possible to focus the
light coming from far, near and middle distance with a single lens. With Smart Lenses, it is possible to adjust the
focal distances where the person has problems in focusing. In addition,
smart lenses can be selected according to the eye type of the person. In
other words, smart lenses can be customized according to the needs of the
person. Thus, they eliminate the need for multiple different distance
glasses.
Patients over the age of 40 who have vision problems at a
distance or near or both and have vision problems at intermediate distances are
candidates for treatment. Each eye with a Smart Lens will be able to see both far and nearby
itself.
For those younger than 35-40, if the eye number is too
high to be corrected with laser, Smart Lens treatment
can be applied.
People who have undergone eye laser surgery before may
also prefer Smart Lens if they experience decreased vision due to deformation
in the intraocular lenses, and the inability to see far or near.
If the person has cataracts and wants to see both far and
near without glasses, Smart Lens can
also be applied.
Smart lens therapy
is the process of placing a multifocal lens during surgery on patients with
cataracts. Thanks to this procedure, the patient’s need for glasses after
surgery is eliminated.
Even if they do not have cataract problems yet, vision
problems for different distances can be eliminated by placing Smart Lenses in
early cataract surgery in people over 40 years old who do not want to use
glasses and have far and near vision problems and are not suitable for laser
treatment.
The method used in smart lens surgery
is the phacoemulsification method. Each eye is subjected to a procedure
that takes about 10 minutes on separate days. First, the eye is
anesthetized with anesthetic eye drops. In this way, patients do not feel
any pain and pain during the procedure. There is no general anesthesia,
stunning or hospitalization. In the operation, a Smart Lens is attached to
the socket of the lens inside the eye. After the surgery, the eye is
bandaged and the patients can go home. One night the eye is bandaged and
the next day the bandage is taken from the eye. The patient starts seeing
on the same day. The treatment is terminated
by applying the same procedures to the other eye within a few days .
