Kolan Hospital Blood Station is a
department that provides 24-hour uninterrupted service in order to meet the
blood and blood product needs of the patients hospitalized in our hospital
safely and quickly using superior technology.
When
our patients need blood, both our relatives and us have volunteer blood donors
(Donor candidates) from the appropriate group and with the necessary
prerequisites and are asked to come to our blood station.
After the first meeting with blood donors, a “Donor Questionnaire
Form” is given to them to fill out. Blood pressure, heart rate,
height and body weight are measured, and if there is no obstacle to being a
donor in the previous stages, blood samples are taken from our donor candidate
for the necessary tests. The aim of the tests is not to cause any
development that will adversely affect the health of the donor who will give
blood and to prevent negative developments (infection disease, blood
incompatibility reactions, etc.) that may occur in terms of the health of the
patient to be given blood.
Tests applied to our donors:
Blood
group
Complete
blood count
Anti
HBC total
Anti-HCV
Anti-HIV
HbsAg
VDRL
Cross-Match
(To prove the suitability of donor blood to the patient who will receive the
blood)
In
the absence of any negative results in the test results, blood is either taken
immediately from our donor or an appointment is made to collect blood on the
date of surgery.
