We provide professional support in Urinary incontinence in women.
Urinary incontinence is one of the most common problems faced by
women today. Studies show that 20-46% of women of childbearing age and
40-69% of menopausal women struggle with urinary incontinence. This
complaint, which occurs in the form of urine leakage from the bladder in cases such
as sneezing, coughing, straining, which will increase the intra-abdominal
pressure, can also be seen as not being able to reach the toilet after urine is
released. Women with urinary incontinence complaints usually try to solve
this problem on their own by using pads and staying home. However, urinary
incontinence, which can cause psychological problems as well as physical
ailments, can be easily treated.
These organs are held constant by the
muscles that support the pelvic cavity from the lower part. Loosening and
weakening of these muscles can cause difficulty in holding urine and urinary
incontinence.
The most important reasons for the
relaxation and weakening of the muscles are previous pregnancies and normal
births, prolonged constipation, overweight, diseases that cause chronic cough,
menopause and old age. As a result of these loosening of the pelvic
muscles, bladder prolapse (cystocele), rectal prolapse (rectocele) and urinary
incontinence (urinary incontinence) can be seen.
TOT (Transobturator Tape) method is successfully applied in our center as a
treatment for urinary incontinence.
The TOT method is a relatively new method of
surgery. It was first described in 2001. In the TOT technique, with a
thin incision made vaginally, a special band called ‘polypropylene mesh’ is
placed with the help of a special needle, and the urethral canal is
elevated. Wound healing is very fast after surgery with this
technique. Generally, the patient is discharged after one day of
supervision. Post-operative complaints are very rare. The bladder is
drained with a catheter placed in the bladder for the first 24 hours after the
operation. Then, the catheter is removed and the patient is discharged.
