Bleaching process involves the dissolution of colored
organic and inorganic materials in the enamel and dentin layers of teeth that
have changed color or are structurally dark for various reasons, with tooth
whitening gels. Hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide are used as
active agents in the bleaching systems used.
The whitening process can be applied to almost everyone. However, before
starting bleaching applications, the factors affecting the success should be diagnosed

preparation should be made to make the mouth environment ready for bleaching in
order to achieve the desired result.
Today, two types of bleaching methods are used. The first of these is the home-type
bleaching technique that the patient can apply on his own. In this method,
a special thin plastic-based mold is prepared that he can attach on his teeth. The
patient himself applies the bleaching agent given to him with the help of this
mold for the recommended time. The treatment is completed in about 1 to 4
weeks. However, sometimes the desired results may not be achieved because
the application phases of this technique are not under the control of the
physician.
