We provide professional support in anesthesiology and
reanimation
During the diagnosis and treatment applications,
anesthesia is usually applied before the surgical operations so that the
patient does not feel any pain.
The
drugs used to prevent the patient from feeling pain during the procedure are
determined and administered by an anesthesiologist and reanimation
specialist. It is also the most important responsibility of the
anesthesiologist to minimize some of the negative effects of anesthesia on the
human body and to ensure that the patient wakes up after the operation without
affecting his vital functions.
Anesthesia; There
are different types such as general, regional, local anesthesia and sedation
applications.
Temporary
loss of consciousness and decreased reflex activity without any change in vital
functions is called general anesthesia. General anesthesia
application; It causes loss of consciousness, prevents the patient’s
awareness during surgery, provides comfort to the patient during surgery by
eliminating pain, and facilitates the surgical intervention by suppressing
reflex activity and muscle relaxation. With these effects, the purpose of
general anesthesia is to provide appropriate surgical conditions. However,
it is also the duty of the anesthesiologist to maintain the health and safety
of the patient during the operation.
It
is used in various operations, especially birth. Spinal epidural
anesthesia combined with spinal and epidural anesthesia can also be used in
normal delivery and cesarean. Thanks to these applications, which are
called regional anesthesia, the patient does not feel any pain, although he is
conscious.
Although
it is mostly used in birth operations, it is preferred in surgical procedures
performed at and below the waist. It is the type of anesthesia that does
not feel any pain during cesarean delivery and allows the mother to take her
baby in her arms right after the birth. An injection is made into the
epidural space in the lumbar region, a feeling of numbness comes from under the
chest and the patient does not feel pain. At birth, the mother can hold
her baby consciously.
In
this type of anesthesia, numbness is provided by injecting into the epidural
space with a thin tube called a catheter, and the feeling of pain is completely
suppressed within approximately 15 minutes. It is also used to prevent
birth pains. It is also used in normal birth and cesarean delivery.
Both
anesthesia methods are applied together. First, with spinal injection,
then epidural anesthesia is performed with the help of a catheter. Again,
it is a method frequently preferred by expectant mothers. Since the mother
is still conscious after birth, she can hold her baby painlessly and
painlessly.
The
patient’s doctor, anesthesiologist and the patient decide together which of
these anesthesia methods will be chosen.
It
is often confused with regional anesthesia. During tooth extraction,
circumcision, various dermatological procedures and aesthetic interventions,
only the area where the procedure will be performed is anesthetized with
various anesthetic drugs.
Anesthesia
can be applied by doctors who have trained in anesthesia and reanimation on
medical education. Anesthesia technicians and anesthesia nurses, who are
trained to assist anesthesiologists throughout the surgery, are also a very
important part of the team.
In
order for the patients to come to the operating room more comfortably, an oral
drug called “premedication” is usually applied. Vascular access
is opened first of the patient who is taken to the operating room. The
patient is then monitored to monitor vital functions such as heart, breathing
and blood pressure. After these preparations, for general anesthesia, only
special drugs under the authority of the anesthesiologist are administered to
the patient through the inserted serum. A special tube is placed in the
trachea for respiratory tract continuity and safety. After the safe depth
of anesthesia is provided, surgery can be started with the permission of the
anesthesiologist. The continuity of anesthesia is provided by the
administration of respiratory tract and intravenous drugs together or
separately. After the operation, the anesthesia drugs used are terminated
and the patient is awakened under the supervision of an anesthesiologist and
taken to the recovery room. The patient is warmed up here, his pain is
relieved, measures are taken against nausea and vomiting, and he is comfortably
sent to his room.
Our hospital, which aims to meet all the expectations of its patients with its modern structure, was established in a closed area of 5000m²; It has 14 Adult Intensive Care and 10 Neonatal Intensive Care units with state-of-the-art medical devices.
