General meat surgery (adenoidectomy)

Adenoid is the lymphoid tissue that is present in every
child and acts as a part of the immune system. After the age of 12, it
becomes atrophied, that is, it shrinks. This tissue can grow, especially
in children with frequent upper respiratory tract infections or allergic
complaints.

When it grows up, it fills the nasal area it is
in. The nasal area is the space behind the nose where the exit holes are
opened. The air we take from the nose opens to the back of the nose and
fills our lungs by following the esophagus and windpipe. When the nasal
flesh enlarges and obstructs the rear exit holes of the nose, the child cannot
breathe through the nose and has to breathe through the mouth. The younger
the child’s age, the bigger the problem it creates. Children with large
nasal flesh suffer from eating and sleeping problems. Snoring, mouth open
sleep, teeth, jaw and facial development disorders may develop due to open
mouth. Sea flesh, eustachian tube, which also plays a role in middle ear
ventilation, can block the mouth and cause fluid accumulation in the middle
ear. In our institution, we successfully operate the nasal passages with
an intervention performed under general anesthesia for about 20 minutes in
children over the age of 1 in cases that do not improve with medical
treatment. The child can go to school 2 days after the operation. There is
no need for a special diet.
