Pediatric Cardiology

The aim of the Kolan Hospital Group Pediatric
Cardiology Department is to provide advanced services in the follow-up and
treatment of congenital or acquired cardiac structural disorders. 

In the Department of Pediatric Cardiology; Interventional
and diagnostic procedures such as fetal and pediatric echocardiography test,
exercise test, holter monitoring and cardiac MRI, tilt-table are performed.

Effort Test It

is a useful method in determining the source of the problem in children with
exercise-related complaints.

Rhythm Holter

It is a diagnostic method in which the heart rate is recorded for 24 hours in
order to detect palpitations attacks especially in children with complaints of
palpitations but with normal heart rhythm during examination. When
palpitations are caught, it allows to determine the treatment method according
to the type of palpitations. Rhythm holter and effort test also have a
very important role in determining future life risks in children who have
undergone open heart surgery.

ECG

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory It

is ensured that additional measurements and images required for surgical
intervention are taken in congenital heart diseases where cardiographic
examination is insufficient. In our hospital, advanced technologies of
echocardiography and angiography devices are used because imaging is very
important in the treatments performed with the “Heart Catheter”
method.

Catheter Method

In newborns with some congenital heart disease, this treatment method is used
to create a hole between the auricles and keep the hole between the carotid
vein and the lung vein open, and the babies are kept alive.

It is attempted to treat the stenosis between the auricles, ventricles or veins
(in the valves or veins) without surgery, by inserting a device with the
catheter method or with a balloon.

Echocardiography (Transthoracic and
Transesophageal)

It is a device that provides ultrasonographic imaging of the heart and is used
to evaluate the structural disorders (holes, strictures, contraction force of
the heart) in the heart. Especially in our hospital, which is a neonatal
intensive care unit, it allows the necessary treatment to be directed without
wasting time for babies who will require emergency cardiac intervention.
