We provide professional support in Waist and neck hernia.
The DRX9000C device is a non-surgical treatment method
with a 74% success rate for patients who are recommended to undergo surgery or
who have not recovered after surgery.
There are 7 backbones in our neck and 5 in our
waist. There are cartilage structures called discs between these
bones. The discs contribute to the mobility of the spine and help
distribute the loads on the spine in a balanced way. Neck and lumbar
hernias are diseases that occur as a result of the deterioration and overflow
of these discs, which act like a shock absorber.
Pain and limitation of movement are the main symptoms of
waist and neck hernia. The source of the pain is the pressure exerted by
the overflowing disc on neighboring tissues, especially the spinal cord and
nerve roots. Some chemicals secreted in tissues whose blood flow is
impaired due to this pressure causes pain. The pain that occurs reflexively
triggers muscle spasm, leading to movement limitation. Pain caused by the
pressure on the nerve roots can spread to the arm or leg as well as symptoms
such as numbness and burning. If the pressure on the nerves and spinal cord is
severe, muscle weakness, urinary and stool disorders may accompany the
symptoms.
The most important cause of lumbar and neck hernias are
mechanical factors. These effects resulting from improper use of the spine
cause the cartilages called discs to deteriorate and overflow. Movement-free
life, sitting for a long time, positions that will keep the spine in an
unsuitable position for a long time (computer use, watching TV, working in
industrial production, etc.), improper weight-bearing are the most common
causes of disease. In addition to mechanical factors, disc wear caused by
aging, genetic defects in the cartilage structure and traumas can be considered
among other hernia causes.
The most important factor in the diagnosis of waist and
neck hernias is the doctor’s examination. All imaging methods, especially
MRI, should be used only for confirming the diagnosis or for differential
diagnosis. It is not correct to diagnose hernia using only imaging
methods. However, unfortunately, many patients today are misdiagnosed as a
hernia.
The vast majority of waist and neck hernias can be
treated without surgical intervention. Surgical operations are included in
the treatment of very few patients, especially in patients with signs of
stroke. Among the non-surgical treatment methods, drug therapies, physical
therapy applications (hot applications, electric currents, ultrasound
applications, laser, etc.), local injections, manipulation applications,
exercise physiotherapy are the most commonly used treatment options. In
addition to the classical treatment methods mentioned above, new treatment
methods have also been developed in recent years, which give more successful
results in the treatment of hernia patients. One of these methods is
Vertical Traction treatment, which was first applied in our hospitals in our
country.
Another method is computer-assisted
decompression devices (DRX9000C). This device is a high-tech device that
directly affects the herniated disc, eliminating the pressure and hence
treating the disease. There is no need for patients with low back and neck
hernia to be directed to surgery. In addition, another method that has
been successfully used in the treatment of hernia in recent years is Ozone
Applications. (Click for Ozone Treatment) Ozone can be applied locally into the
soft tissue to the spinal region with hernia, as well as injection into the
herniated disc or spinal canal. As a result, today, waist and neck hernias
are included in the group of diseases that can be treated without surgery.
