Mental Health and Diseases Unit

In the Department of Psychiatry, services are provided in
the fields of child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. In today’s rapidly
changing world, the changes caused by the acceleration of life have led to an
increase in the problems encountered. As a result of this increase, daily
tensions, worries, problems become an integral part of modern life. In
modern medical practices, health is not limited to physical well-being alone,
mental and social well-being is also sought, and as a result of all these
developments, the need for psychiatric practices and activities, regardless of
age and gender, has revealed an undeniable importance. As a natural result
of this situation, the need for psychological counseling, psychiatric help and treatment
requests are increasing.

The areas of the Department of Mental Health Diseases are as follows

Intrauterine evaluation and family, mother information and referrals

Developmental problems in infancy (sleep disorders, eating problems)

Developmental problems (Mental, emotional, cognitive
development problems and related diseases: mental retardation, pervasive
developmental disorders)

Severe mental illnesses (Schizophrenia)

Mood problems (Depression, bipolar affective disorders)

Anxiety disorders (Obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias)

Behavioral disorders (Attention and movement problems, destructive behavior)

Eating problems (Anorexia, bulimia, obesity)

Tic disorders

Urinary problems (Night peeing, poo incontinence, toilet training)

Sleep problems

Sexual identity problems (Sexual development, intersex, masturbation)

School problems

Affective disorders (Depression, bipolar affective disorders)

Anxiety disorders (Obsessive Compulsive disorder, phobias, panic disorder, etc…)

Sexual adjustment problems and sexual dysfunction

Delusional (paranoid) disorders

Severe mental illnesses (Schizophrenia)

Organic originated mental problems (Dementia, substance abuse)
