The most important cause of cataracts is old age. Although it is
frequently seen after the age of 60, cataracts can be found at all ages, from
newborns to middle-aged people.

Today, the only treatment method for cataracts is
surgery. With the development of modern techniques, cataract treatment can
be performed painlessly without the use of needles and anesthesia, and the
patient can return home on the same day. Cataract surgery is performed by
removing the clouded lens with phacoemulsification method and replacing it with
an artificial lens. In this operation, the quality of the lens placed in
the eye and the experience of the operating physician directly affect
postoperative eye health.
