The missing teeth have both esthetically and medically negative effects for the patient. The aim of the prosthetic teeth is the regain of the lost functions.
Prosthetic teeth may be classified in three groups as constant, flexible and prosthesis over implants.
Constant Prosthesis
Constant prosthesis is placed with the supportion of the neigbouring teeth, and are fixed to theese teeth. They cannot be removed by the patient. Metal or non-metal, procelaine materials are used for the construction of these prosthesis.
Flexible Prosthesis
These prosthesis are supported by the neighbouring teeth or the bones and gingivas left from the lost teeth. The patient can remove the prosthesis. They are divded into two groups as partial or full.
Partial prosthesis are ligated on the own teeth of the patient with sensitive holders. Therefore, they are more constant compared to full prosthesis. The teeth to be applied sensitive holders, should be apllied crowns primarily.
Full prosthesis are applied to the mouth with completely removed teeth. Since the fixation of full prosthesis in patients with jaw bone loss is weak, complete success is obtained when they are applied with implants.
