Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty); It is an operation in which excess fat
concentrated in the middle and lower abdomen is removed, the sagging of the
skin is recovered and the abdominal muscles are strengthened.

In tummy tuck surgery, a transverse incision is made in
the lowest part of the abdomen. This incision is at the bottom enough to
be hidden under the swimsuit. In addition, another incision is made around
the belly button.

In partial tummy tuck operations, these incisions are
made shorter than normal. In some cases, the incision made around the
belly button may not be required.

After the incisions are made, the skin is separated from
the muscles from the groin to the chest. As a result of this separation,
the abdominal muscles that come to the surface are stretched and
strengthened. Then the skin is stretched and stitched in place and the
excess skin is cut off. Sutures are closed with dressing and thin tubes
called drains are placed under the skin to drain excess fluid that will occur
in the operation area.

You must stay in the hospital for 1 to 3 days after the
operation. It is normal to experience swelling and pain in the patient
after abdominoplasty. Although it can continue for a few days, these pains
can be relieved with the help of painkillers.

Drains are removed 1-3 days after the operation, and
stitches are removed 1-3 weeks later. You can return to work after 2 to 4
weeks. After a few months, you can completely return to your old social
life and physical activities. Although the scars remaining after the
operation do not disappear completely, it may take 9-12 months to become
indistinct. However, these scars are so low that they can be hidden under
a swimsuit or bikini.
