Our anesthesiologists, who are an important part of the team performing the surgery; First, they make a pre-operative evaluation of the patient and decide together with the patient the anesthesia method appropriate for the patient and the surgery to be performed.

Patient safety is ensured at the highest level with the controls performed by our anesthesiologists and technicians before and after the operation and recording is made. At the same time, it controls vital functions such as relieving pain, maintaining heat, replacing lost body fluids, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and kidney function during surgery. Thus, it provides the comfort and safety of the patient during the operation. It also takes the necessary precautions for pain relief after surgery.

For this reason, in terms of patient safety, surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical nurses, anesthesia technicians and operating room staff perform their planned tasks in a regular team work.

Anesthesia applications in our hospital:

General Anesthesia: The patient who is under general anesthesia is temporarily unconscious. This is a temporary state of unconsciousness under the control of the anesthesiologist and with medications, unlike normal sleep. The sleep time of the patient is adjusted according to the duration of the operation. Awakening occurs when the effects of the anesthetic drugs given to the patient end.

Regional (Regional) Anesthesia: Regional anesthesia is the numbing of the operation area without raising the patient’s consciousness. Regional anesthesia can only be applied to the region where the patient will be operated or the large nerves belonging to that region, and in some methods, a needle can be made from the patient’s waist (spinal, epidural anesthesia). With these methods, the patient does not feel pain while being aware of what is happening during the surgery. The drowsiness felt disappears over a period of time depending on the drugs used.
