Embryo Pool Method

It is the name given to the process of collecting and transferring
embryos obtained by performing two or more egg collection procedures (OPU) in
couples with decreased egg reserve and accompanying IVF treatment failures.

In couples who have one or more negative results
after embryo transfer, this situation negatively affects the results of the
treatment and keeps the patients financially and morally from the treatment. Many
couples quit treatment due to these reasons. However, ensuring that they
continue their treatment may allow many to have children. At the same
time, the cost of treatment decreases by 20-25% in the second and subsequent
egg collection procedures of our patients.

In this way, taking the couple to more in vitro
fertilization treatment with less cost can increase our chances of reaching a
result. Another benefit of the method is to increase the number of embryos
that can be biopsied in patients with Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD),
to process them together and to reduce the cost of PGD. In order for the
pool method to be successful, it is also important that the laboratory has a
very successful embryo freezing technique.

Since the transfer is not performed every time
with the embryo pool method, it will be possible to reduce the stress of the
patient and to achieve a higher chance of pregnancy per more treatment and
embryo transfer with less cost.
