In the Department of Radiation Oncology, ionizing
radiation is used to control malignant cells as part of cancer
treatment. Devices such as TrueBeam, called the Linear Accelerator, have
been developed for this purpose in order to transmit radiation to the diseased
organ in the most accurate and appropriate way. The use of these devices
to treat high doses of radiation, often to destroy cancerous tissue or to
provide palliative care, is called “radiotherapy” or “radiation
therapy.”
In the Department of Radiation Oncology; We serve

dosimeter, psychologist, social worker, dietitian, radiation protection
specialist and patient consultant. In addition, together with clinics such
as Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Pathology, the most basic steps in the
direction of treatment, such as the study and stage of the risk of tumor
collapse after the assessment, are addressed in a multidisciplinary approach.
