Adolescence Period

One of the important topics of the gynecology department is the adolescent
gynecology period of the childhood age group. Complaints in this period
are different from those in adulthood, and gynecological examination has features
suitable for the age group. In addition to the follow-up of the puberty
development of girls, the regulation of vaccines planned to prevent
menstruation and especially cervical cancer, services are also provided for the
diagnosis and treatment of problems such as bleeding disorders and hair growth.

Infertility Treatment

Infertility is the condition of not having pregnancy despite unprotected and
regular sexual intercourse for at least one year.

In Kolan Hospital Group Infertility Department, all causes of infertility are
investigated and necessary examinations are made and the most appropriate
treatment method is decided together with the couple.

Infertility treatment methods;

Ovulation
therapy (ovulation induction)

Vaccination
treatment (intrauterine insemination)

IVF
treatment (IVF, ICSI)

Ovulation treatment (Ovulation induction): If the ovulation rate of the woman
is determined with the examinations, and if it is decided that ovulation is
low, regular ovulation can be achieved with the help of medication. The
development of the eggs is monitored regularly by ultrasonography. When
the egg reaches the desired size, pregnancy is achieved through normal sexual
intercourse. 10-15% of pregnancy can occur with this method of treatment.

Vaccination treatment (intrauterine insemination): It is a method of taking the
sperm cells of the man and leaving the woman’s uterus with special injectors.

Pregnancy Tracking

In our department, the health of pregnant women and babies are closely
monitored, screenings for the routine development process and abnormalities of
the baby are performed, and treatments are carried out to prevent miscarriages
and stillbirths.

During pregnancy;

Early pregnancy ultrasound examination

11-14 weeks Down screening test and nuchal thickness measurement

16-18 weeks Down screening test and nuchal thickness measurement

Three and four dimensional ultrasound examination

Evaluation of fetal abnormalities or suspicion of anomaly

Obstetric Doppler ultrasound examination

Birth

While approaching the magnificent moment that has been longed for 9
months, Kolan Hospital Group offers the expectant mothers the comfort that will
make them feel in a peaceful and reliable environment, and the method of
delivery is decided with the first examination performed at the beginning of
the birth and the findings determined in the prenatal period.

In the Department of Women’s Health and Diseases, methods of normal
(vaginal) birth, cesarean section (with general anesthesia), delivery with
epidural anesthesia, delivery with spinal anesthesia are applied.

The specialist physician staff of the Department of Women’s Health and
Diseases aims to achieve high pregnancy and live birth rates in the light of
new developments.

Gynecological Cancers

Cervical (cervix), ovarian (ovarian) and intrauterine (endometrium) cancers are
the main gynecological cancers that are diagnosed and treated in our
department.  

Cervical cancer; It is a type of cancer that occurs in the part of the
uterine body that joins the vagina. As a result of the examination of the
swab sample taken from the cervix area with special methods (Pap test-Pap
Smear), it is possible to recognize it before cancer occurs. Thus, early
treatment is the greatest advantage.

Ovarian cancer; It is a type of gynecological cancer, which is more common
in women with a family history of breast and / or ovarian cancer, in older
ages, in women who have not given birth, and has the highest mortality rate.

In the surgical treatment of ovarian cancer in the Kolan Hospital Group
Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, ovaries, adjacent organs and tissues
(lymph tissues and abdominal adipose tissue, uterus) are removed. Rarely,
other adjacent organs (intestines, spleen, liver and diaphragm) can be
intervened.

Endometrium (intrauterine) cancer is the most common gynecological cancer in
developed countries.

Risk factors are as follows:

Obesity

Menstruation before the age of 12

Entering menopause after the age of 55

Excessive vaginal bleeding history

Various hormone treatments

Polycystic ovarian disease

Having a family history of cancer

The treatment of endometrial cancer is primarily performed surgically. Radiotherapy
(radiation therapy) and / or chemotherapy can be applied to patients deemed
necessary after surgical treatment.
